Mixing up a Manhattan

Today's new drink that I made was a Manhattan. I always thought of this drink as an intimidating drink as it always seemed high class and complicated...Boy was I wrong. Honestly a Manhattan was one of the simplest drinks that I have made so far in my experiment of becoming an expert mixologists.

All you need to make this drink is vermouth, whiskey, and bitters.

  1. Pour 1oz of vermouth into your glass (I used dry vermouth as that is what I had but sweet vermouth is more commonly used)
  2. Pour in 2oz of whiskey. I used a Canadian whiskey but any whiskey you will like will do and it will be more personalized to your tastes that way.
  3. Add ice and stir
  4. Strain into new class with new ice.
  5. If you have cherries you can add one as a garnish and to add a little cherry flavor but that isn't necessary.
Now you have just made the perfect Manhatten at home! Enjoy!!
